Rockford, Illinois gets a little EDGE

With the arrival of spring weather in many parts of the country, APTech’s engineers and technicians are returning to the field. One of our latest projects, taking place in Rockford, Illinois, was highlighted on local news station WTVO.
APTech’s Local Municipalities and Private Agencies Program Director, Mark Gardner, spoke with the news agency to discuss the importance of the work taking place within the city. In his interview featured below, he shared his expertise on pavement data collection and analysis with the residents of Rockford.
This project employs APTech’s state-of-the-art automated data collection vehicle, EDGE. Among its many high-tech features and abilities, EDGE has a laser crack measurement system that measures cracking, rutting and roughness. The data collected is analyzed and presented to the city in an easy-to-understand format and helps the city make sound investment decisions when it comes to their infrastructure.
