David Peshkin gives talk about RAP at NEPPP annual meeting
Adding RAP to chip seal aggregate can be a more sustainable alternative to using virgin aggregate alone.
On Wednesday, May 22, APTech Vice President David Peshkin, P.E., gave a presentation titled “Use of Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP) in Preservation Treatments” at the Northeastern Pavement Preservation Partnership annual meeting. This event took place from May 21 to May 23 in Albany, New York and gave David the opportunity to network with industry professionals about pavement preservation strategies.
David’s presentation gave insights into APTech’s research project with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) on using RAP materials for pavement preservation projects, amidst a growing interest in pavement sustainability and preservation. The results of this study will be helpful to agencies and others looking to make wider use of RAP materials, especially in pavement preservation treatments such as chip seals and slurry systems.
