APTech Gets Social: A Return to In-Person Networking

The University of Illinois Research Park recently provided an opportunity for professionals to build their networks

While everyday life inches towards our new normal, the University of Illinois Research Park hosted Catalyze: A Professional Networking Event. This social gathering took place on April 28 at EnterpriseWorks located in the University of Illinois Research Park in Champaign. The event allowed for individuals and companies to meet one another and learn about the work they do within the Champaign-Urbana area.

Though not considered a career fair, individuals who attended had the opportunity to have their resumes reviewed prior to the event, and participating companies were able to discuss job openings with prospective candidates. For APTech, Catalyze provided the perfect opportunity to reach out to the public and showcase our state-of-the-art technologies.

“APTech does work locally, nationally, and globally. This event gave us a chance to showcase that. Catalyze is one of those networking opportunities that help steer career paths and inspire industry collaboration. It was a great opportunity to network with other local businesses and to support the community.” said Monty Wade, President of APTech. The work APTech provides within its home state is a point of pride to the company. Currently we are supporting pavement engineering endeavors for the Illinois Department of Transportation and Division of Aeronautics, as well as for both cities of Urbana and Champaign.

“It was very exciting to talk about the success of our organization and the opportunities available for current and future engineers. What a great opportunity to talk with potential employees already living in the area!” said Mark Sherbeyn, HR Manager of APTech. APTech is continuously growing its client base and is consistently looking for more quality engineers, technicians, and support staff.
