APTech selected to update APMS for Nevada Department of Transportation

The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) recently selected APTech to update their airport pavement management system (APMS) for twenty-two airports across the state. This achievement highlights APTech's dedication to providing innovative solutions for improving airport pavement performance.

This project involves a comprehensive update of the state’s APMS and includes adding new pavement inventory, work history, and condition data for each airport. The collected data will play a crucial role in identifying maintenance and rehabilitation needs and assist in developing multi-year capital improvement programs tailored to the specific needs of each airport.

APTech will deliver the project results in various formats to ensure effective communication and informed decision-making. These include individual airport reports, executive summaries for each airport, a statewide executive summary report, and an update to APTech’s web-based interactive APMS data visualization tool known as IDEA.

As part of the project, APTech will determine Pavement Classification Ratings (PCRs) for the runways at the project airports as a measure of relative pavement strength. This work will include the development of aircraft traffic forecasts, and, along with the updates to the APMS, will help support decision making for future infrastructure planning.

“We are thrilled to be selected by the Nevada Department of Transportation to update their APMS,” said Kyle Potvin, P.E., APTech’s project manager. “We truly value our relationship with NDOT Aviation and are excited about continuing our partnership and putting our expertise to good use by enhancing the State’s airport pavement infrastructure. We are committed to delivering accurate and comprehensive data that will enable NDOT, the airport sponsors, consultants, the FAA, and all stakeholders to make informed decisions about maintenance, rehabilitation, and long-term planning for the airports across the state.”

APTech has a proven track record in delivering successful APMS projects for Nevada, and previously completed updates to the system in 2012 and 2018.
