Transportation agencies face tech worker shortage

During the annual meeting of the Transportation Research Board (TRB)—which took place from January 9 to 13—APTech participated in a panel discussion featuring high-ranking officials from transportation agencies across the country. Featured in an article on statescoop.com, this event raised awareness of the tech worker shortage facing the transportation industry.

The session, titled “TRB Leaders’ Dialogue: Readying Transportation Organizations for Future Policy, Legal, and Organizational Issues,” brought together agency leaders and young professionals to discuss challenges facing their organizations. Moderated by APTech founder and Executive Vice President Katie Zimmerman, P.E. and facilitated by Dr. Omar Smadi, Iowa State University, The expert panel included:

One of the key takeaways of the discussion centered around the tech worker shortage and the stiff competition agencies face for these workers.
