New Project: Salt Lake City International Airport Pavement Condition Collection

APTech is excited to announce the start of our work in Salt Lake City, Utah.

APTech was recently awarded an engineering contract with the Salt Lake City Corporation, Department of Airports (SLCDA). Under this agreement, we will be providing pavement condition collection services critical to maintaining the pavement infrastructure at Salt Lake City International Airport.

This project will be led by APTech’s Commercial Airports Program Director, Genevieve (Gen) Long. She has led over sixty airport pavement management program implementations and updates.

A major component of this project involves the use of APTech’s Enhanced Data Gathering Equipment (EDGE) van to collect pavement condition data. The EDGE minimizes the impact of traffic on both landside and airside pavements at the airport, allowing the airport to operate in a normal capacity.

During this project, APTech will be providing the following services:

·       A records review of the PAVER database and corresponding maps.

·       An update to the pavement network definition and associated maps.

·       An update to the PAVER database.

·       Automated data collection services on runways, taxiways, taxilanes, and landside pavements.

“We started data collection this week with close collaboration between the SLCDA project manager and operations staff,” said Gen. “Everyone has been very helpful, facilitating an aggressive initial project schedule. Moreover, everyone has been a pleasure to work with, adding to the excitement of this project.”
