Kurt joined APTech within 8 months of opening our doors and brought with him a strong resume in pavement engineering. With more than three decades of experience in the areas of pavement design, evaluation, and rehabilitation, Kurt has amassed a keen understanding of pavement behavior. Over the years, he has led nationwide studies on pavement performance and pavement rehabilitation effectiveness and has conducted numerous pavement evaluation projects on both highway and airfield facilities. Kurt is recognized at the national level for his expertise in concrete materials and concrete pavements, and he served as the past Chair of the American Concrete Institute’s Committee 325, Concrete Pavements.

Kurt serves as a Vice President at APTech and as well as the firm’s State and National Agencies Program Director, where he oversees pavement research and training projects for our state and national highway transportation clients. Kurt currently leads several major Federal Highway Administration initiatives, including the Technical and Program Support for Pavement Programs, the Pavement Surface Characteristics Program, and the Implementation of Best Practices for Concrete Pavements project. He has also been integral in research projects for several state departments of transportation, including Michigan, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
