APTech shares pavement preservation findings in latest CP2C publication
In September, APTech Vice President Kurt Smith, P.E. and Pavement Engineer Prashant Ram, P.E. wrote for the California Pavement Preservation Center (CP2C) newsletter. Their article, Pavement Preservation for Concrete Pavements, detailed case studies on the pavement preservation approaches of two Interstates on the west coast: I-10 near Ontario, California and I-5 near Olympia, Washington.
The piece highlighted preservation activities—including diamond grinding and grooving, dowel bar retrofits, slab replacements, and joint resealing—performed on both roadways and how the pavements were holding up after decades of use.
Read the full article in CP2C’s newsletter. The full study will be part of a larger Federal Highway Administration report, and while the final report is still under review, an interim report is available.
