APTech renews focus on project manager training
Last week, APTech team members from across the country gathered at the Champaign office for the first session of the firm’s internal project manager training. This training, which will include five sessions extending from December 2024 to May 2025, focuses on key steps within the project life cycle. As APTech continues to grow, this training will ensure that our project managers have the tools necessary to effectively manage projects while providing high-quality results and client satisfaction.
In the first session, titled “Initiate,” participants discussed the necessary skills, roles, and responsibilities to be an effective project manager. The training session also covered the initial steps of a project—from reviewing and assessing an opportunity to developing and submitting a proposal. During this portion of the training, APTech team members paired up to complete hands-on activities, such as evaluating a request for proposals (RFP) and developing a mock proposal based on the requirements listed.
APTech’s Training Manager, Nicole Slaboch, noted that this training, “provides an avenue for engineers of varying experience levels to discuss project successes, opportunities for improvement, and strategies to become more effective project managers.” While APTech has always prioritized training, both as a service and internally, Nicole, in conjunction with company management, is leading a revitalization of the project manager training curriculum. “APTech is dedicated to keeping our training current and impactful. We value our clients and their vision. Having effective project managers is crucial to the success of our work and to our ability to deliver for our clients.”
